What You Need:

  • A box with a pot or bowl inside (your “cauldron”)
  • Potion labels (Unicorn Tears, Dragon’s Breath, Fairy Fizz, Pumpkin Potion, Rainbow Drops, Witch’s Brew)
  • Powdered or syrup drinks (e.g. Cedevita or similar)
  • Optional: a few drops of food colouring
  • Wooden spoon for stirring

🎯 Focus / Learning Goals:

  • Vocabulary: mix, pour, stir, drink, potion, magic, colour words
  • Speaking practice: describing ingredients and actions
  • Imaginative language: creating spells and chants

💡 How We Use It:
I stick the cauldron printout to the box and place a pot inside. Potion labels are attached to bottles or cups filled with regular water or coloured water. The Fairy Fizz is filled with a powdered drink that fizzes when it hits the water. Children pour the “potions” into the cauldron, stir them with a wooden spoon, and say a magic chant together before tasting their mixture.

It’s a sensory, language, and imagination activity all in one — perfect for encouraging descriptive words and full sentences in English while having fun with a bit of spooky magic!

🧙‍♀️ Simple Magic Chant:

Bubble, bubble, fizz and pop,
Mix it well and never stop!
Rainbow colours, magic brew,
Make our dreams and wishes true!
